Statement lighting + a few we love in our home!

Do you ever wonder how you can really make a space special?! I’m here to tell you it can really be as simple as statement lighting. I’m a fan of gorgeous, oversized lighting, lighting with fun details, and lighting with texture. You can have the most basic, neutral, simple and bland space and really transform it with the addition of a statement light fixture.

What is statement lighting anyway? Statement lighting can be a chandelier that’s eye catching and gorgeous or a wall sconce that brings something interesting to a wall.. Whatever the case, it’s any lighting that makes a statement in a space. It really is the home’s jewelry that will make a room feel put together.

The most recent update we made to our home is adding this gazebo to our back yard and honestly, while the gazebo is beautiful on its own, this Pacifica Outdoor pendant from Serena and Lily really gives this space so much interest and personality, and breaks up the sea of black metal, doesn’t it?!

This pendant light comes in 3 sizes and the large fit this space perfectly in here. It also comes in other beautiful finishes, but the light dune is my favorite. The Pacifica outdoor pendant is great for outdoor spaces, but can totally work indoors as well for a beautiful casual look. We’ve only had this one for a few months, so I’ll need a little more time to speak on longevity, but Serena and Lily puts out great quality lighting so I have no doubt this one will stand the test of time!

Another statement light is right here in our breakfast nook that is very similar to the one we have in our gazebo, with the wicker weave, just in a different shape. This one is called the Santa Barbara pendant and we’ve had this one for a couple years. It’s definitely the texture, shape, and size that really makes a statement in here. I love that this pendant gives a very casual yet polished looked. You can see more of our breakfast nook here.

I love this pendant on its own, but I have also seen it as a pair over a larger dining table and also over a kitchen island and I really love that look as well! I also love the look with a wood table and wood chairs like we did here down below. In the end we went with the tulip dining table because it was more ideal for banquet seating.

The one thing I would say with this light, is I wouldn’t depend on it to light up a whole space. It’s more for ambiance, to light up a dining table during dinner, or to create a cozy gathering spot for game board nights just to give you an idea. When we need more light in this space, we also have some recessed lighting we turn on in the evenings.

The next statement light I really love is right here in our bedroom. This is the Pescadero Tiered chandelier. The first time I laid eyes on this cutie, I just knew I had to add one to our home one day. And when we moved into this home a short 2, almost 3 years ago now, we did just that in our bedroom. This chandelier is made of coconut shells and is such a versatile chandelier, it would look great in so many different styled spaces! It gives a touch of coastal vibes to our very neutral space and I think it makes our space feel more serene in here.

As much as I love love all these other statement lights, my favorite one has to be this Capiz Honeycomb chandelier in our family room. This chandelier is so chic, interesting, and really can elevate any space. This one comes in 3 sizes, we went with the largest size, which is the 29 inch diameter. This space has gone through a few changes and shared all about it here.

I love the beautiful capiz with the gold honeycomb design that gives this space an elegant touch, makes a bold statement in here, while still having some softness to it. I also love how the capiz gives the light in here a very diffused warm glow at night when we’re just hanging out.

If you’ve been around for a while, I originally had this chandelier over our dining room table 2 years ago. We were still figuring out where we wanted our dining space to be and I really loved it here in front of our fireplace. I think this chandelier just really elevates any space and works so well at a dining space as much as a living space. I shared a closer look at this tablescape and the space and really loved the dining room in here!
