This is a pretty exciting post for me so excuse the many exclamation points in advance :O Well I wanted to share our updated spring entryway with you and I you know how much I luhluhlove spring time but also wanted to share something pretty cool and it’s just so exciting for this simple girl! A post I shared on our entryway here was shared on Country Woman magazine and it was first of all a shock that anyone would even be interested in sharing our little barely even there entryway.
It was also just so unexpected that any photo of our home would be good enough for a magazine, especially with me behind the camera. HA! We just hit a year on our blog this February and this was the perfect way to celebrate our first year here! Anyway, check it out if you ever get a chance. The April/May spring issue will be out on March 8 and shares easy fixes for small entryways. I am so thankful that God would bless this hobby of mine in this way and I really look forward to what He has in store for this little blog this upcoming year!
So… on to the heart of this post. We updated the entryway for spring and it really just took some fresh flowers to give it a springy vibe. Btw, a little secret between you and me.. These are 1.5 weeks old from Trader Joes and still has another day or two left. I’ve been hearing people say their flowers from TJ’s have only been lasting 1-2 days. I saw someone’s tip on cutting them down in luke warm water and letting them sit in that same temp too. I also didn’t put much water and I think that helped too. But, what do I know?! But to whoever advised that on Instagram, thanks so much for the tip! Anyway, you can see some other ways this little entryway was styled here, here and here.
The wall coat hanger has been here for 9 months and is still holding up well. It is still one of my favorite DIY projects that I shared to date. If you wanna know more on how this was made, check it out here.
The side table has a basket that aids in my hubby’s need to throw his keys somewhere. Oh okay okay, I like to throw my keys too so it’s helpful for the both of us! The wooden little drawers hold random things from current receipts I hold on to cause I can be so indecisive on purchases sometimes, to jewelry I always seem to take off on the couch and don’t wanna lose. It’s random but helpful.
This woven chest is from Ikea, purchased last year and has traveled all over the house. It was most recently used as a side table with a tray on it but I decided to move it here for a while and work double duty as a bench/ storage. The woven natural feel helps keep with spring while still being welcoming and adding some warmth to the space..
Now that we’re here in March, I don’t feel so bad about embracing spring. You know how much I love this season! Hope you enjoyed this post as much as I had fun sharing it!! Oh, and if you happen to see a Country Woman magazine, check us out and let me know what you thought of the entryway ideas featured! Thanks for stopping by!

March 13, 2016I really couldn’t be more in love with this space of yours Alma! I can see why they wanted to feature it! In my previous home we had a similar entryway, and I couldn’t ever come up with anything to do with it. I’m sad I missed out on an opportunity to copy you and enjoy it for myself!! Thanks for sharing this with us at the Your Home Decor and More Link Party!
