Hello August! Well friends, we are close to the end of summer.. We went to LA last week with my siblings and their families. Between us 4 families, there was a total 21 of us, which made everything crazier. And that’s without 1 of the nephews who couldn’t make it, and my dad and step mom who had to at the last minute cancel. Going out to eat or even just shopping was a whole event. It was too much fun! We went to Disneyland, Universal Studios, and Medieval Times. I totally lost my voice after Medieval times.
Soon after we came home, everyone got sick. It didn’t help that we had little sleep. But after almost a week, we are finally starting to feel better and I was inspired to work on a late summer bedroom refresh that will transition into fall.
Right before we left for vacation, we went on a trip to Ikea to grab some Ikea Pax cabinets. This house came with very little storage space and our closet is pretty small as well so we figured instead of replacing our dresser with another dresser, we would maximize the space with more vertical storage.

The left cabinet holds Jasons clothes, and the right bottom half holds his shoes. The top half of the right cabinet will hold our linens since our linen cabinet is also very tiny.
We also added all new bedding. I love how soft it all feels and the quality is amazing! I went with a mix of white and pewter, love the pop of color, and how it all flows nicely with our rug. I linked all our bedding at the end of this post!
This wool plaid throw is totally luxurious and a splurge. I love the classic plaid that will never go out of style. Because it’s neutral, I can definitely keep this out through each season!
This basket has unexpectedly become my favorite and have used it all over the house. It’s a great one if you’re looking for a multi use one that you can keep out to also display. The flowers were from Jason when I wasn’t feeling too great. Flowers have a weird way of motivating me to style a space for them!
I’m really happy with the new bedding and the new cabinets we added in here. It feels like a totally different room. Let’s hope it stays more organized in here.
Time to enjoy the rest of summer! I’m slowly getting ready to move on to the next season. Are you ready for a new season? I didn’t think I was ready, and then I found myself making my first Christmas purchase last night. Haha. And if you’re curious, it was just a wreath and 2 garlands that went out of stock so fast last year.

September 26, 2022Hello Alma,
I met you and your husband at our Serena & Lily Berkeley outlet a few years ago. I helped you with your purchase. You also know my niece, Reichel Broussard.
I actually need to reach Jason for my son who is interested in the video game design and development field. He just received his degree. He wanted to email Jason to ask him questions about getting a job in this field. Hope they can connect.
Also, our outlets are having a sale tomorrow on outdoor furnishings. Its an additional 40% off the already 50% discounted price.
Thank you,
