A fun and festive Christmas tablescape 2019

blog hop, home sweet home

Today is all about decking our tables with some Christmas cheer. I’ve joined some of my blogger friends on a Holiday Get-Together Tablescape blog hop where we all share our tables and hopefully can give you some ideas for your get-togethers this year.

For our Christmas table scape this year I really wanted to dress it with items that have longevity. Items that I could either use through the seasons and seasonal items that will stand the test of time. For me, I only want to store seasonal items I know I will reuse through the years. One thing that has remained in my Christmas decor is definitely bottle brush trees. They are affordable and store easy!

I’m using a textured runner we already owned. It really is so easy to use because it’s neutral and has a pretty texture to it and can easily be dressed up or down. I think it’s becoming more and more clear that I love to shop our home and love mixing old with new!

Tip: Use a neutral garland or wreath that works with all seasons and temporarily add accents relative to the season or holiday to make it more festive

The eucalyptus garland is a recent purchase I’ve had in my cart for a while. My only regret is that I didn’t purchase 2. It’s a faux eucalyptus garland that is perfect for all seasons which you know I love and here I added some faux evergreens that I pulled off an old faux branch, sporadically added it to the eucalyptus garland, and it instantly looks more festive.

For our coffee station, I added brass candlesticks that we had on hand, a cute thrifted vintage brass bell, gave our Keurig an upgrade (eek.. love it), added some cutting boards from the kitchen to add a little warmth, changed the letter board and brought out my fun “oh what fun” travel mug from Starbucks from a few years ago.

Another thing we did recently was upgrade our silverware. They’re matted black stainless steel and so far I really like them.

I love these napkins and have used them for both a very casual lunch to a dressed up table setting.

Speaking of a dressed up table, I thought I’d also share how to dress it up a little more for a dinner party. I actually just added a few more of those evergreen clippings to make it a little fuller, added my favorite hanging bells I just purchased and just weaved it through the garland, some berries, and candlesticks for some ambiance.

The cute little tea cups were thrifted and were a way for me to add a lower height of candle lights using tea lights.

The bells are one of my favorite purchases this Christmas. It’s affordable and can be used to style any space, instantly making it feel more festive.

I started with 3 little white houses maybe 5 years ago now, and this year I ordered a couple more. These are definitely staples in our Christmas decor and so fun for the kids too.

Very nice! Love how so many things can be used in many seasons. Please tell me about the art over your fireplace — looks like Zabriskie Point in Death Valley.

Thanks Elle! It’s true, Decor that can be used in all seasons is my favorite kind!

The art is actually one of the choices that I loved in the free photos selection for the Frame tv. I should look into it though because it really is beautiful!

Oh Alma, I love your Christmas table! Great idea to use a year round garland that you can add seasonal elements to. Your bottle brush trees and bells are gorgeous, and I love the new flatware.

I like the trees on your table. What brand is your silverware? I saw Threshold but I have not heard of that before. I have Oneida in four different patterns. One is my first set from when I got married, one is my Mama’s good silverware, one is my new good silverware and one is my daughter’s good silverware only used a few times before she moved home. I want to get more of that set…beautiful. But, all Oneida. I got them all from Macy’s except my wedding set which is really the second set of my wedding silverware because we had a massive fire at moving and storage company the day before we moved in…sadly we lost a lot. I was intrigued by the black finish on the stainless…
